Includes the author's "Address" (1839) and narrative sections covering Penkonda, Delhi, Elichipoor and Mungrool, and Nassuk, among others. Originally issued as part of the popular 19th-century British "annuals" or illustrated gift books, The Oriental Annual combined travel sketches, historical anecdotes, and romanticized tales of India with finely detailed steel engravings.
